Week 7 was filled with casting Scott, our SAG actor and beginning the SAG paperwork. Working with SAG was an ordeal. Maia was taken over by script revisions and also filling out SAG paperwork. Zach worked on a preliminary schedule to give to SAG. Ciana began to think about wardrobe now that all of our actors were cast. Mahina completed a script breakdown with the now finalized version over the script, but was near a mental breakdown because of SAG.
Week 7-Colton Book- Editing Location
This week I talked to Debbie Miller at Montaj9 to see if we would be allowed to edit in their office. I thought that it would be really nice to work with triple monitors, that way we can have a monitor for our bins, one for our time line, and one to watch the playback of what we’re editing. She said that we can edit there so I am now extremely excited for the post production process.
Week 7—Mahina Smith—SAG, Script Breakdown
This week was very SAG filled. Tuesday we casted Scott and I began the preliminary paperwork, which they told me I had to fill out by that day by 3pm. This was all rushed because I was a moron and told them about our test day and meeting with the actors that weekend. Then all of Wednesday I waiting in suspense for them to get back to me with corrections or more paperwork and nothing happened. Since my grandfather is in the hospital I made sure to sit in the corner of his room where I knew he gets wifi to ensure I would see their email. Nothing was sent. Suddenly, Thursday morning comes and they email me with a list of corrections, new forms, and tell me that it is unacceptable that I don’t have my actresses’ social security number (because her mom would not disclose it). All of this due by 3pm. I panic. Unlike Wednesday, I have a morning class today. I text Maia and Zach to see if they can help. Maia is busy, and Zach is asleep till 12pm. I email the SAG lady begging for two more hours. Luckily my panic must have seeped into my email and she agrees that 5pm will be acceptable, but I still must have the actors social security numbers.
